It is imperative for the British film industry to reach out to new and younger talents if it hopes to remain a force in a marketplace dominated by Hollywood. At Surface Films, we embrace the notion that good work can be accomplished without enormous cost, and that a reasonable expectation of a return on investments is a necessary goal for any filmmaker.
That said, we are not averse to working with bigger budgets, and have had experience of the studio system by working on such films as U-571 and Beyond the Sea, as well as low-budget films, numerous shorts and music videos.
Our fundamental goal is to produce films that are fresh and dynamic, combining energetic visuals with exciting storytelling. Independent film can stand up against any studio feature, and as representatives of a new generation of filmmakers, we aim to prove it.
